I could easily start this all about where I was born, where I was raised, all the things about my childhood but that’s predictable and boring and all those details (at least the ones that are relevant) will come out in time. I love lists so here are a few lists of things about me:
What I Like:
Jesus
My family
Washington Sports Teams (minus the Wizards…no offense, not a huge basketball fan)
Ice Hockey and Football in general
French 75s
Puppies
My job
Harry Potter
My friends
New office supplies
Hershey’s chocolate
Sparkling water, specifically Cherry Pomegranate flavored from Wegmans or Cranberry Lime flavored from Giant
Car karaoke
Kitchen dancing
Sarcasm and Dad Jokes
Tattoos
Curling up under a blanket with a book and a cup of tea
Watching Netflix in bed
Snuggling
Bourbon
Celebrating like a dork when I make the correct pool ball in the pocket
My best friend’s babies
Hanging up pictures and notes people make for me
Giving gifts
Grocery shopping
Cooking
Painting
Coffee – black, like my soul
What I Don’t Like:
People who talk over you to talk about themselves
Working really hard and still being poor
People who think of healthcare in terms of financial gain
The guy who sideswiped my car and kept driving
Throwing up
Cleaning
Seasonal allergies
Clowns
People who think their loved ones won’t know whether they show up at the end of their life or not so they don’t make an effort
Maryland drivers
People who don’t want to get to know me for me
People who blow their nose at the table, especially when others are eating
What I’m REALLY Good At:
Listening
Giving hugs
Giving gifts
Making lists and not always following through with them
Giving advice that I should also follow but don’t
Taking a shot without making a face, minus tequila – that’s the devil’s drink
Praying for you
Remembering fun facts or little things that make you sparkle
Being late for work
Color coding things
Waiting until the last minute to go to the bathroom then getting UTIs
Kissing
Ignoring going to the gym
Sleeping in
Thinking I don’t need to take my antidepressant because I’ve had a few good days then not taking it then having a few really bad days before I start taking it again
Typing without looking at the keyboard – and freaking my Dad out with the skill
Putting mascara on while driving
Burning the outside of the brownies while under baking the inside in my shitty oven at home
Buying supplies for a project I never get around to
Spending money on a perfect day planner then getting overwhelmed by it and forgetting it exists until I have a mini meltdown and use it again (rinse and repeat x 6 annually)
What I Want To Try:
Learning how to play chess
Drive a stick shift
Hit a target with a gun
Bowling a perfect game
Not celebrating like a dork when I make the correct pool ball in the pocket
Finishing a goal list completely
Loving myself unconditionally
Being a morning person
Cooking my way through a cookbook
Buying a house before I’m 45
Finding someone who is willing to embrace my weirdness while loving me
Not letting this project fail miserably in a few weeks
Reading through my Bible in 6 months
Being consistent with self care
Not making out with strangers at a bar
Making my crochet granny squares look like granny squares and not like those flat pretzels you eat when you’re trying to diet but still want carbs
